June 12: Kansas Storms

Storm in east-central Kansas, a few miles west of Emporia, on the last day of chasing before a summer weather pattern takes over the central Plains.

Next storm down the line, in Chase County, on this marginal day with weak inflow.

Non-rotating wall cloud northwest of the town of Matfield Green.

Wide-angle view.

Storm becomes disorganized as new storms form back towards Wichita.

Last view of the storm over Chase County grazing land.

At dusk I intercept a powerful supercell just southeast of Wichita. This is the view looking west.

Looking a little more to the right...

...and now looking northwest.

View to the northeast, a dramatic end to a busy season of storms.
