Day 4: Back to Bear Ridge

Early morning photo after a night of sleeping under the stars, watching the Perseids meteor shower (that's my sleeping bag, covered by the tent fly, on sand and granite).

Serene Sierra stream as we slowly descend.

Most of the hike is through peaceful forest along Bear Creek.

An occasional stand of Aspen as we approach 9000 feet.

We begin the steep hike back up Bear Ridge, with a few stops to enjoy cold water coming down the side of the mountain.

High Sierra refreshment.

More amazing views as we near the ridge.

Wildflowers along a miniature creek.

Sunset at our campsite on Bear Ridge at 9800 feet. We hike out the next morning.
